Default Vitara + Fuel Map

ok, i bought an new d16z6 yesterday, im goning to be building it up over the next few months, and then turboing it.

my question is, if i put some LC vitara pistons in, and then put the whole thing in my car, without the turbo, just to break it in, do i need to change the fuel map? or can i get by with the stock map, and then change the map when i add the turbo?

It might run, but it would run like crap. You'd be losing a full point in compression.

it would run a little bit different but not a whole lot. you can break a motor in with low compression pistons in on a stock fuel map
