My 92 civic vti b16a2 engine. i got a k&n 57i inductiion kit on it and other mods to the engine the car makes so much noise in the engine section i sometimes think my vtec missfires. The induction kit and air filter breather and other mods i have added makes the car move like a rocket but if the vtec is missfireing what could it be due to.

what do you mean missfireing, does it lose power after vtec kicks in, when your driving, or does it just idle funny?

 

is it a ticking sound? what is done to the engine? what octane rating gas do you use

it dont lose no power well it seems to me it dont but some times i can hear the vtec, it might be due to all the mods in the engine makes it hard for me to hear the vtec. My induction kit makes its own sound and the filter breather makes it own sound and then due to my decat and exhaust system aswell it may be due to that.

I was just concerned as the car has been in and out of bodyshops gettin resprayed and more power added by local garage.
I had the car resprayed to a colour flip form like red to green but when the sun hits it all sorts come out.

I will drive it again, but it maybe me just bein too worried about the vtec.
