Hey guys,

I have an 04 civic. The past month or so, when I am driving, I hear this weird sound coming from the engine. It kinda sounds like what you would get when you would put a soda can on the back tire of a bicycle. I only hear this rattling sound when I am accelerating. As soon as I take my foot off the gas, it goes away. I don't hear it while braking either; just when my foot is on the gas....Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated !!

Maybe there is a soda can stuck in a wheel well or something?

Seriously though, get your valves checked out. When was the last time you had them adjusted and inspected?

 

1.5 month old thread. OP hasn't signed on since he posted this. I doubt he is coming back.....

 

It's a most likely a lifter or valve issue if he you do come back
