Default Wiper Fluid Light On

hey everyone,

the other day my wiper fluid light came on, (gay canadian models only). i put in some water in the thing and the light still went on, so now it's almost full pretty much. i read the manual and it said not to put in water, but whatever, i didnt put that much in anyway, and if you look in you can still see liquid.

i've had this car for about a month now, the reason i bought honda is so it doesnt break down like a ****ty american car every couple of weeks. is the wire really screwed, or whats going on here?

thanks.

it's a 99 hatchback btw.

Does the pump squirt fluid onto the window? If it doesnt you might of burned the pump out from it going dry. There piece of cake to change

if the light bugs you and everything works fine...ignore it, or find the sensor wire and snip it to kill the light. Just don't snip the power wires for the pump.

Here is the fix, if the wipers are working, and there is fluid comming out when you press the button, this is what you do

1) Take out cluster,
2) remove bulb from where the light is
3) reinstall cluster

enjoy... honestly i have never seen a light on a Civic that shows when the fluid is low, and i am in Canada, my Dad had a 97 lx for 5 years and not once did i see the light or a spot on the cluster for it
