36.4 MPG average
Over the last 2 tankfuls, my 98 Civic sedan with the D16Y7, 5 speed and 361000 kms (224000 miles) has done 36.4 mpg on gasoline that may or may not have up to 10 percent ethanol. This was mostly rural type driving, between 30-50 mph with mild to moderate hills, some traffic lights and a bit of highway driving mixed in. I think there's a bit of room for improvement in my fuel mileage. I'm getting a P0135 code so I think I'll try a junkyard O2 sensor first to see if it takes care of the code then if it does i'll buy a new one. If it doesn't, then I have some electrical bugs to hunt down.

When gas prices went over $4 i started driving like my grandma and averaged 42 mpg in my 01 LX over a span of 600 miles. It was probably 2/3 highway at 71 mph dropped down from my normal 75. Shifting at like 2600 rpms. I also had just replaced the exhaust manifold/cat and spark plugs Gas was 10-15% ethanol.

Ihave the exact car only has 75,000 miles on it and during the winter (sh*t gas) i get 33 to 37, in the summer (good gas) I get 36 to 40 mixed driving and i drive 80 or so on the freeway. I would say your mileage is good and nothing to try to improve. Summer gas will get ya better mileage probably.
