Horrible Fuel Economy, help:(
Hey guys, i drive a 2002 Civic LX 4dr 1.7, the car should be getting upwards of 25mpg (as listed by honda). Although after driving the car for about a year now, its only been getting around 16mpg. Im only getting 330km (yes im canadian, eh?) which is very odd.. any suggestions as to what this could be? Im having to fill up almost every week.

depending on the mileage you would potentially need a tune up also installing a new primary oxygen sensor would give you better MPG since there only good for 30,000-50,000 miles. the primary oxygen sensor tells the computer how much fuel to mix if its dirty it tells it to use more fuel then needed making the run rich wasting fuel and degrading your cat converter faster.

i had a friend with a screwed up rear caliper that wouldn't retract fully after applying the brake. screwed his gas mileage not to mention the pad. probably not your case since its been going on for a year you'd be down to the rotors a while back
go to an area with a small incline, let off the brake in neutral and you should roll easily.
running rich you may notice a black film on the rear of your ride.

What have you tried so far? I assume you have done the obvious and replaced the air filter, spark plugs, and fuel filter, did an oil change and made sure your tires have the correct pressure. Have you checked for any codes?
Also, how are you calculating your mileage? I have seen many people say I only get X miles per fillup. What is a fill up? You are taking the miles driven and dividing by gallons or liters correct? I am assuming 12.8 gallons or 48.5 liters per fill-up.
