"what have you done to your civic today?"
Troubleshot the El Cheapo (ebay) 'JDM' fog light kit I bought for the Honda to see why it wasn't working. Tracked it down to the cheese-mo low-grade relay they included in the kit. Swapped out the relay, swapped out the equally cheese-mo 55w bulbs (one had popped already) for 100w bulbs from O'Reilly Auto Parts, and it's all good again. Smoked the insulation right off a ground wire on the driver side lamp (huh-huh-huh... that wuz cool...), but it's all good now.
Also watched a kid get his 300ZX hung-up on the lift (high-centered) because it lowered it too far. A few minutes later, got it high-centered on the 1" angle-iron track for the gate to the Auto Hobby Shop. He's probably never going to be able to leave the base either, since they installed some tire-rippers on the outbound lanes of the gates that stick up something like 3-4". Plus, the bad thing is that he probably won't be able to get it back on the lift to unf00k the suspension if he ever comes to his senses... let alone through the gate to the Auto Hobby Shop in the first place. Too funny!!
I has become apparent to me why I will never lower my hatch.

Here's how I wired mine: Black = Relay Ground, Red = Relay Power, Blue = Lights Terminal (output), Yellow = Switch Terminal (if you have the same 'egay' kit I have). Keep the package, since the backside will tell you which plug is which on the relay.
I also popped some 10A Instrument Light fuses because I plugged both the switch power and relay power into the same blade (above the headlight fuses). Once I separated them and plugged the switch power into the blade above the headlights (to keep the fogs off when the lights are off), and the relay power into the last blade on the left (above the 20A Sunroof fuse).
When I popped the first one, I grabbed the 'ACG' fuse to replace it, and forgot to put it back. Later, when the car wouldn't start (after attempting to defeat the SRS light since I pulled the stock steering wheel awhile back), I spent about a half hour tracking that down and eventually remembered to plug one back in - I figured having the yellow SRS plug on the back of the instrument panel was the issue, and put it all back together... but nope - it was the ACG fuse the whole time.
Took a lot of crap from my buddies over that one.
Decided to sell it when I get back from Madagascar, likely pick up a Evo X or <08 STI when I get back. Business is back up, so I can stop hoarding the cash now.
Civic was a fun commuter, time for a little more fun.
