As of right now, i think that a B series build would be the best build for the money. I know that the K engines are better, but they are so expensive that it doesn't make cost sense. About the B series being 11 years old, Chevy still uses 40+ year old pushrod technology in thier Z06 and it can beat the **** out of a whole bunch of a OHC engines.

Why the z6 crank? It allready has the same crank as a Z6
Oh? I had known it used the longer Z6 rods, but not the crank. My bad.

Generations of engines and types of engines are totally different subjects. The 3rd and 4th gen pushrod engines that GM has is a way different engine than the older ones. If I had $12k to spend to be honest I would put a down payment on a new car but if I were to spend it on a swap for a civic I would do a K20 in a second over a built B series.

^+1 i have been doing a little reading on the k20 and seems like a wonderful idea. stock is 220 hp and yea spend 2-3k on an EG hatch with the k20 swap and it would kill. and if you have an extra grand laying around, do the suspension.

buy a nice EK in great body shape with a good amount of miles that you can buy for cheep. then send it down to spoon for c1 swap . then a full tien swap. then just use the rest for exhust and clutch and little stuff.
