Meh, certain brands have a heavier pressure plate than others. I had no problem DDing my JRSC D16 with a stage 2 competition clutch in traffic. I have heard ACT clutches are harder on the legs though.
However, I only had the stage 2 since my stock clutch would start to slip after a little bit.
OP, remember, an OEM replacement clutch is meant to last. A racing clutch is purely meant to hold the power you are putting down. I can see a performance clutch dying out much faster than an OEM clutch on a stock car.

Intake and exhaust stuff really doesnt add much power. A stock clutch can handle that with no problem. I am saying once you start boosting and exceeding like 30% more hp than what came with the motor, you should look towards upgrading.
Either get a replacement, or the stock on re-surfaced. Doesn't really matter.
There is no such thing as too much clutch. You can get a stage 5 if you really wanted. Yes, it would be pointless, but it wouldn't hurt anything except your leg after a while of DDing it. ;P

I changed my 00 si clutch at 80,000 mi and just sanded down the flywheel and wiped with brake cleaner. Unless you see major grooves I dont think you need to change the flywheel if you're just using a stock like replacement.
I would think that the heavier clutches would kill an old worn out clutch/slave cylinder.
