Default 2002~ Hatch shifter

Hello! I'm kinda new here so this may not abide by all of the forum rules. Sorry.

Anyway, i was thinking of buying a 2002-ish (that generation) Civic Si Hatch within the next year. I have seen the shifter and i have to ask; How does it shift? Is the feel ok? Are the gates easy to discern?
I'm just asking as i have never been inside one of these things and they just look weird.
Any other comments on the car in general are appreciated.

Thanks!

Welcome to the forums!

I've never actually driven an ep3 (02-05 si hatches), but from what I've heard, the in-dash shifter takes a little bit to get used to, but once you do you'll love it. From a performance standpoint, the in-dash shifter is a great idea as you can have your hands on the wheels longer. Also, from what I've heard, the ep3's handle amazingly well.

The car is fun to drive, a buddy had one. They look good with a few mods on them and just take care of it.

My daily driver is a 03 SI, The stick shift is in a perfect location. It did not take very long to get used to. People have asked me if its a short throw, and its not. I've driven hard on mountain roads with lots of gear changes and the car is great. I have megan racing coilovers, the car handles good.
