2012 Honda Civic Sedan whining/humming above 35MPH
I am working on my son's 2012 Civic and noticed a loud whining/humming noise above 35MPH. First I thought the noise caused by the tires, so I replaced the tires. Noise still there. I raised up the car on air and checked everything and all looked fine. Shook the tires checking for bad bearing, and all tight. I placed the car in gear and let the front wheels spinning freely, and very quiet. However, when I drive the car, a loud whining noise started a above 35MPH and I think I could feel the humming when my foot on the gas pedal. What could it be? 100K miles on the car. We owned it since 40K miles and always kept up with maintenance. Thanks,
Update: replaced the front right bearing and no more noise.
