5w20 oil to 5w30

on my 300zx's i was used 10w30 then i changed over to 15w30..i had no problems, next time u use change ur oil just use all 5w30...dont mix it. I seriously dont think it will be a problem....oh dont listen to a honda sells person, all they want is ur money an time.had the same problem with nissan...
try it out for 2500miles or so, if no problems ...then ur good to go.

Walmart should have it...... pretty much the only place around here that has it.

Thank you! My warrarnty is gone, so im not worried about that, but i want to keep myD17 until i can buy a K20.Therefore would buying 5w-30 bea bad idea?

Read that link. I've read the same thing somewhere else too. Honda only says to use 5w-20 because it saves them money by making their cars have better gas milage. It'll give you a little bit better milage but 5w-30 is a lot better for the engine and will increase your engine life.

5w 30 will NOT hurt your car , like weirddan said its only to get better gas milage , lots of new cars these days are using thinner oils
a few year ago most cars use 10-30 , but now most use 5-30

There is evidence that the piston rings will see more lubrication with 5-20 instead of 5-30. The thinner oil will lubricate the top end better.
