i have a 90 civic lx (custom exhaust) and there is a guy in town that has a 01 mustang GT with a cold air and exhaust.......do u think i can beat him??????

Um no. You can not beat him unless you have other engine work done. and a lot of it.

UNLESS he just fails at shifting if its a stick.

 

IF IM NOT MISTAKEN MUSTANG GT = V8 HIGH 13 LOW 14 IF I REMEMBER RIGHT. IF IM WRONG SORRY IM A HONDA GUY NOT A FORD GUY. YOU WOULD NEED A TURBO + LOTS OF MOTOR WORK. BUT YOU NEVER KNOW. I SAW A EVO VIII RUN A 17.3 QUARTER WITH LAUNCH CONTOL. GOD I WISH I COULD HAVE SHOWN THAT KID HOW TO DRIVE HIS CAR

Yeah, a 90 Civic LX could theoretically beat an 01 Mustang GT, but ONLY after dropping a few thousand dollars into the engine. Youmightneed a bigger engine, turbo, boost control, better ecu, and a few other things. The people here can give you some advice if you want to build a track car.
