yea, you're right
i gave it the cd player by looking at the picture though, and the a/c since it looks like it has it.
i got 2815 with all that

but if its got rust and/or needs new tires, the price goes down to fair/2380

hmm, so what do you guys think?
offer him 2k in cash, and see if he bites? (or $2,300)
That is, after the test drive, and I pay a garage to check it over(im just not confident enough to check it over myslef)

I looked up the cv joint boot, and dont think ill have a problem checking for that.
how expensive it that to repair?

thanks again for all the help guys, a lot of forums dont have the patients to deal with these kinda questions!

Thats a pretty steep dropfrom the asking price. It really depends how much other Civics are selling for locally. You may want to check out more cars before you buy this one. No matter how hard I try find a good deal, it seems that after I buy something I find something better afterwards.

If the CV boots are torn, the whole axle is easier to replace. You can find axles around 75 bucks and replace them yourself. Just ask any mechanic for pricing if you are not comfortablereplacing the axleit, it's a common repair.

I guess ill check it out, i left a message with the guy to look at it friday, and then see if he priced it right in KBB.

i didnt know an axle was so cheap.., woudl it still be cheaper to just fix the boots, just more work?

somone mentioned towards the top, tha i should look to see if it had been overheated.. how do i check that?

Its cheaper to replace the boots, most people replace the whole axle since the labor is almost the same and eventually the joints will wear out.

For overheating, check if a lot parts have been replaced ie hoses, radiator, waterpump, or even a new headgasket. If they are new, asked them why they were replaced. They may be getting rid of a headache. I always asked them why they are selling their car. For the car that old expect at least two owners.
