Hi there, I just heard a loud screech of tyres followed by a weird pop outside my house, I look outside and although a crash has been avoided the 06 civic had, in the course of 'excessive' braking, managed to snap the front drivers wheel off...it was literally hanging off.

Driver was very confused and no doubt very upset. The car he was braking to avoid just drove off unsathed leaving him with his immovable new civic. gutting.

Never seen or heard of anything like it, just wondered if any of you had?

Sounds like he broke his cv joint.

 

sounds like one of the ball joints went...nothing like a CV:-D

 

id have to say ball joint... thats crazy though.

 

seen it happen many times before...on neons and escorts, but never on a civic from braking...

 

yea What they were saying? I dont know I think that would be weird to go outside and see.

 

how can it be the ball joint?? both the upper and lower ones on my car were shot to **** and the car ran fine, it sounds more like a controlarm snapped or somethin.or the tierod end
