Ok, so i recently switched out my clutch, with the help of some of my friends.And well, the car starts and runs and all that good stuff....but the clutch pedal is still wwwwaaaayyyyy down to the floor, and every time i crack the clutch bleeder, air and fluids keep coming out. Oh and there's no pressure on the clutch pedal, it's just laying there. And i really dont know what to do....can you guys hook abrotha up?!?!

There are a couple of ways to do it. The best way is with a suction device attached to the bleeder. You can get that device at a parts store. It is the same one used for brakes.

If you don't want to invest in tools, you need two people. One works the pedal and the other under the hood. Open the screw and have the assistant press the pedal down. When it's all the way down, close the screw and have the assistant let the pedal back up. Repeat several times until no more air comes out. You'll also have to keep pouring new fluid into the reservoir because if it runs dry you have to start all over again.

 

also if there is no pressure on the clutch it could be a bad slave cylinder, does the pedal stay on the floor sometimes when you push it bc that happened to me and i changed my slave cylinder

 

Thank you guys so much for all the great info.....i guess im not TOO big of an idiot lol, becuase i was doing it right.....but like you guys said, i need a new slave cylinder...i've never installed one personally, but i was wondering if its a hard thing to do? say compared to replacing a clutch?!?

It just bolts on. It is highly recommeded to use a flare nut wrench ($6.00) on the line nut though. Those lines are usually quite tight and/or rusted and trying to use a regular end wrench will often round off the nut.

Usually the slave cylinder will just leak when it is bad, more likely your problem is that the master cylinder doesn't pump like it should.

 

So my slave cylinder doesn't seem to be having any problems with it, according to my mechanic, but he said he doesn't have too much experience when it comes to hydraulic clutches like the one mine is.....so does that mean, that it is def the clutch master cylinder?
