brake frustrations

I'm about to go bleed the brakes and i checked my Haynes instructions on the pads to see if i did anything wrong, and it says to take the cap off. What it doesn't say is to bleed the brakes... but in the brake bleeding section, it says "it will probably be necessary to bleed the system at all four brakes if air has entered the system due to low fluid level." Yea, yesterday when I looked, guess what I noticed... low fluid level. Anyway, going to bleed the brakes right now, i'll let you guys know how that turns out.

No luck. I don't have the nerve to deal with this anymore... i'm taking it to tires plus. The professionals will do it right anyway.

also look under the dash and see if any brake fluid could be leaking from the master cylinder.

on, and only taking off to check level.




So I took it to Tires Plus and they found out that it was my master cylinder. I got it replaced and now the brakes work fine. Kinda glad I took it because they found out one of my rotors is way thinner than the other and my calpers need to be replaced, and one of the rotors is below the minimum level. My dad said he thought the brake rotors were fine when we changed the pads, and I have decided I am going to rely on my Haynes, the forum, and my own personal knowledge, and not my dad's. LOL. Although, i'll still have him help me sometimes, it kills working by yourself all day.

Errrrr, now to replaced the rotors and calipers [:@]

caliper. those should be fine.... rotors probably need to be replaced. all depends on the previous person or place that turned the rotors, sometimes a shop can screw up turning the rotors and turn them to thin. either it be they screwed up or slightly screwed up and then tried fixing it by taking more off which cut it deeper/thinner than recomended specs.

but they dont cost to much so not a big deal at all! easy to swap out!

If the pedal goes all the way to the floor, it means the cups (seals) in the master cylinder are worn or deformed.
Air in the brake hydraulic system will just cause a spongy pedal feel.

THe calipers I would think should be fine...unless one is siezing up, I wouldnt see a need to replace them, unless "Its too old" like some shops say to people who know nothing. The rest of it though, is up to the measurements lol.
