I own a 2000 grand Cherokee Laredo and I LOVE it. but the gas money killing me!!!
I'm looking for something that will save me money.
SO
I'm actually looking to talk with some owners of the same type of civic.
I would like to know:
*What is the Mile Per Gallon(MPG) that this car does? (city/H-way)
*There is any possible to install hitch so I can rent U-Haul in case I move (I move like 2-3 times a year)
(U-Haul Moving & Storage at S Padre Island Dr: Trailer hitches)
*How is the car generally?
*when usually the transmission starting to die?
*how many miles usually engine is alive?
*[edited by staff] No vin checks allowed like that...
*what those two warning lights means? the owner says nothing but I don't belive him.
1."MAINT REQ'D"
2.and I think the other one is check engine, no?
I added two pictures.

Those are some pretty general questions.
On a car with 144,000 miles, you're at the mercy how its been taken care of. If the oil changes weren't done properly the engine could blow tomorrow who knows. same with the trans. You'll never know how it was driven, however, I see an aftermarket cluster on there so it looks like someone tinkered with it, which I wouldn't touch.
Figure out what code the ECU is throwing. If it's the cat converter, that part alone can cost you a grand to fix.
And for gods sake, dont tow a trailer with a civic. Aside from the obvious risk of jacknifing when you try to brake with such a light car, you're essentially driving without insurance because the car is not rated for towing. If you kill someone, your insurance will not cover you. If you have to haul small trailers, you have to get a SUV capable of doing so.
