Default Buying a civic hatchback

I'm looking to buy a used car for my first car post-college. I knew I wanted a hatchback, good milage, cruise control, and an mp3 player. I became interested in a Civic because of a lot of good reviews, but I'm still confused over whether it meets my wants.

A couple of questions I have are this:
1. Does every model of civic sedan also come in a hatchback style? (Excluding the civic hybrid, which I found does not)
2. How old a car can I buy and still have an mp3 player? Its a standard feature on the 2006 LX, so I tried doing research just on the older LX packages but coulnd't figure out how old an LX model would still have mp3/wma support.
3. What is the actual milage on a civic hatchback? I've read 40/30, but how far does that drop in reality?

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can provide!

Not every model year has a hatchback version of the sedan. Both EG (92-95) and EK (96-00) body styles have a hatchback. EM2 (01-05) only has the SI hatchback. About your MP3 player, i don't think the older cars have an option to attach an MP3 player to the radio. What you can do is buy an aftermarket deck that has this feature.

Thanks for the very fast respone!

Its too bad they don't make more hatchbacks - I really like every other feature of the car. I guess I'll have to start looking into other hatchbacks

i dont even know if you r lookin at this thread anymore its been like 3 months but anyway...if you want a car with a mp3 player in it...i suggest to get a car with a cassette player in it...and purchase an mp3 player and a cassette adaptor (adaptor off ebay for like 5-10 bucks) this is a suggestion, i assume that since the thread is old that ur not lookin at it anymore and u have already purchased a car...but its a piece of advice for anyone that sees this
