Default Canada to US imports

i'm currently looking at a 98 hatchback. the owner has it registered and inspected in the state of Pennsylvania (which i also reside in). However my dad was telling me it might not be a good idea. What would be an issue? the speedo reeds in Km. i can't find anything that would be a problem. Anyone have any background on this?

If it's inspected and registered in your State, then someone's gone through the BS paperwork, etc... already.

You can either squint to read the mp/h numbers or become proficient at km/h, or swap in new gauge faces, or a new cluster.

It will be impossible to read at night.

As said before, if it already has a valid Pennsylvania registration it shoudl just be a simple change of ownership.

To be really sure contact your stats DMV, they Should help you.

If it's already registered in PA, the paperwork has already been done for its legalization. It should just be an owner transfer deal, just like buying a US-Spec car.
