Default CEL Light

Hey guys i reset the ecu and the cel light instantly came back on? this does'nt seem like a good thing. According to my mechanic the car is running great and he said not to worry about the light. If i were to puchase a odb reader could i pinpoint the problem? Thanks

Oh yea is there any proper way to reset the ecu. I just pulled the 7.5 fuse from under the hood for a few minutes then put it back in, turned the car on for a few min, turned off, then back on again.

there is no way for the CEL to come one with no problem. either go have it checked at a local shop or you can get the OBDII readers and get the code yourself and see what is wrong

ok but could the problem be unharmful, maybe like a random blown fuse?

What year Civic? If it's 2000 or earlier, you can pull the code without a scan tool.

You need to pull the code. Your mechanic is giving you bad advice.
