I have a '93 EX manuel trans and when i am in third accelerating hard the check engine light comes on. It only does it at about 4200 rpm. Does anybody else have this problem or know why it does this?

 

Does it go off when the rpm's go down?

How long have you had the car and how long has it done this?

If it stays on, have you pulled the code?

I am thinking it is the solenoid, but I have heard of people hooking the vtec to the CEL light so they can see it engage.

Is this the same car you are parting out?
