i just notice this past few days thats raining my civic running like theres no power and its like my engine is going to die,its happen only when o=its raining hard,im thinking maybe the SRI is wet or moist but when i check it its not. and my engine light malfunction come on last nite while driving in hard rain, any possible diagnosis

im thinking the following problem:
my full cat back exhaust
the SRI
FUEl pump (is it possible?)



any advice and opinion pls

 

Year/trim?

Pull the CEL codes.

Possibly bad plug wires.

Possibly distributor problems -- pull off the cap and inspect for moisture damage and corrosion.

 

Yes it sounds like the ignition is getting shorted out-- especially if it's a model with distributor and wires (before 2001).

 

i have 2000 ex civic,

do i need to replace the distributor and cap,its been more than a tear when i change my distributor and sprk plug.


what do u mean ignition is shorted? is that also in the distributor cap?

On a dry day let it idle with the hood open, then mist some water on the spark wires, if that makes it act up replace the wires. Check the cap closely for cracks or just replace it.

 

im definetly gonna do that thing, io hope i can fix it thanks for the advice
