you know how only state troopers can use radars, well do cop radars really work all that great? has anyone gotten caught with one on?

 

i have a radar detector in my car and it has worked for me. i have not been pulled over once and it picks up the radar within two miles.

 

does it pick up the local cops?

they pick up stuff other than cops too, my friends that have them say they go off whenever they go by the local walmart or by someone else with a radar detector, i think they pick up radar from planes as well, my mom's radar detector would, i dont remember what kind they had though

 

I have a radar detector as well, its great but you got to remember, it picks up any type of radar weither its a cop or the automatic doors at the store, and also if the pig doesn't have his radar on its not going to pick it up, its not a cop detector its a radar detector so you still have to be careful. Oh and cops have laser guns as well, even though most dectectors will pick up laser, its already to late, they get there reading in a matter of seconds, but i personallyhave only incountered lasers at state borders. I just got my valentine V1, it's expensive but it is definitely worth the price. It picks up cops all over the place and tells you where they are best investment so far.

 

i have a radar detector, and i dont use it all the time becuase, cops usually NEVER have theyre radars on for no reason, they almost never use their radar guns while driving in the city, because people dont usually speed like they would on the freeway...so i mainly use it when im on the freeway, and even then, i know the spots that they are always hiding at so even if im not using my radar detector i slow down
