ok cool. well its going to be my first car, and i know a kid who has a 2000 civic si coupe that he goes to the track with, so its goning to be a daily driver car but i would like 2 be able to hold my own on the track.

No stock civic is gonna hold its own on a drag strip. For the price of a 2000 SI you could buy a 92-98 Civic EX and have it boosted and have a funner and better looking car that at least won't be an embarrassment at the track.
