to answer the tranny question....no, i dont know of any auto tranny that will fit the k20 maybey the k24, but im not sure....also, if you boost a k20 your going to have to do interanl work to get that compression ration down just a tad to be a little safer for boost...also, if your putting down decent numbers, dont expect that auto to hold up for long underthe beating its going to get. Even if there is an auto tranny that fits, if your car is already MT. its going to take another bottle of tylenol (sp) to swap that, and the same headache to switch it back to MT. Im not sure of any fitmit issues as far as radiator and intercooler issues go....i have seen two k20 swapped CRX's before so i know it will fit, just not sure how much of a problem fitting a turbo under there is going to be.

Also, why would a b swap be illegal? is it becuase is an older engine than the car? that also depends on where you live....where i live, almost every "mud truck" you see violates emissions, DB levels, Bumper height etc. and there all safe..but Cali is a different story. lol

B wouldnt be legal because the b motor is older than his car. You must put an engine with the same age or newer to be "legal"

Johnny i dont thnk a B series fits lke a glove, but i think i get what you mean as far as its a more common/easier/cheaper swap than a K series atleast.

And why would that be illegal, but a K series wouldnt be?

k series is newer than his car...i figured that would be why, but i just figured i would ask.....is that only for emissions or just in general???? weve got some fox body stangs up here with 460's and what not....were all illegal up here in ohio...lol

is it sad when your senior government class has the school "resource officer" (dep. sheriff) come in and let you ask him questions about the law and 4 car guys ask if are cars are illegal???? whats worse is, hes like "your the one with the green civic right? yes, you have modified your ride height, and your exhaust and prolly your intake right? yes, i could have you towed, but i dont care" and "ahhh colmen, you have the red teggy, the old one? you have a really low suspension, so even if we could only use a height measurement, im sure you would fail, also, that exhaust is modded" coleman "stock muffler..." cop: "cut out cat..." coleman: "you got me there, oh, you forgot the tip" cop: "no one cares about tips" lol

well he says that its agianst our laws to mod your exhaust, intake and ride height...so it doesnt matter how low or high it is, long as its stock...but i think he was just saying that so we dont do it....idk why, but none of us have been pulled over for any of that, come to think of it, no one i know has cept for this guy that had a big ol' mud truck running....headers....he got ticketed for loud ehaust in town at like 2am...lol

well i guess back to the topic, if you rebuild, boost, nitrous, you might be able to make that much power out a D17.

What D17 are you talkin about anyway? A1, A2, A6, A7? Wikipedia says the A1 has 250 hp stock, but i think thats a typo....
