What? I thought that the bumper height just had to be within certain parameters. And what I'v heard about the exhaust is that it is illegal if "modded for the purpose of being louder."

is it sad when your senior government class has the school "resource officer" (dep. sheriff) come in and let you ask him questions about the law and 4 car guys ask if are cars are illegal???? whats worse is, hes like "your the one with the green civic right? yes, you have modified your ride height, and your exhaust and prolly your intake right? yes, i could have you towed, but i dont care" and "ahhh colmen, you have the red teggy, the old one? you have a really low suspension, so even if we could only use a height measurement, im sure you would fail, also, that exhaust is modded" coleman "stock muffler..." cop: "cut out cat..." coleman: "you got me there, oh, you forgot the tip" cop: "no one cares about tips" lol

Also back on subject,no one really knows the stock internal boost rate becuase it all depends on your tune, if you get a good tune you can use more boost safley, but your given range estimate is prolly what i would say too...about 8-10 psi is the most i would use on stock internals and that would have to be on a really good tune for me. also, one thing to consider is are you going to run that boost all the time, or use the 14-16 psi (after build) on the "track"? the less boost you give it the longer it will last, (not saying that boost will dramatically cut the life expectency....just thats how it works, more power, the more parts are "stressed").
GOOD LUCK! (never seen a boosted d17)
i think i have decided to get the dezod.com turbo kit along with a few of there other nice parts. im think im gonna start running 5psi and work my way up from there while its a DD. idk if im gonna have to beef up the auto tranny yet but if it needs it i'll do it and let yall know. as for when the civic hits the track, the skys the limit on the boost i will run. i will b at a place in mylife where i can spend reckless amounts of money on a car but only till the little lady starts up with the kid havein. i will let u guys know how the civic does and how the turbo instal and all that stuff goes... anyone know of a tune/dyno shop in the Tampa, FL. area? o and by the way its like in the high 70's low 80's here with absolutly no chance of snow fallin on my beutiful civic... I LOVE IT!

its already an auto. cuz well its just easyer. but i have run some numbers and they go alittle like this...
k20- jhpusa.com - 5,800
full race turbo kit (480hp they say)- turbo-kits.com - 5,299
all that other stuff i would need is kinda pricey too
or........
dzm turbo kit ( 164hp they say) - 3,199 or truehonda.com turbo kit - 3,099... idk what one i would get
new cam - 367
dc header 4-2-1 - 275
so with the money already spent on the d17A2 plus the money from the rest of this stuff its about the same cost of the n/a k20. but with an extra 1,400 i can upgrade the rods, pistons, ect. and push the boost way up on the d17. i have yet to find someone who knows how much boost the stock internals can take but i dont think i would feel safe pushing it past 8psi. with the extra 1,400 i would expect to boost 14-16psi....... any thoughts?

Sorry, but for some reason I have found that headers dont fit quite as well on a turbo car.
And Tony, That above is classic.

No, I'm still fixing the idle, the weather has not been very helpful with this; stupid rain!, niether has going out and getting slammed at the bar friday nights. And I still haven't heard anything from the only place in my area claiming to have a dyno; so I'm not sure if it's functional yet.
I'm hoping that by next weekend I'll have it running; NOT getting hammered at the bar tonite. Deadline is May 5th. it'll prolly take another month to save up the money for the dyno.
And then no mods until next summer lol I actually wanna drive this car!
