Dirt/Mud in engine compartment?
Hello,
I bought a 2016 Civic on Friday, and drove home through a rainstorm. Yesterday I opened the hood, and saw that mud had splattered all the way up into the engine compartment. Is this normal?
I see that Honda sells an under-body spoiler for $400 (yikes!). Is this really necessary to keep mud and crud from getting into the engine compartment? I wasn't driving aggressively; I was just worried about getting it home on Friday without a scratch.
I sincerely appreciate the collective wisdom of the Civic community here to answer a complete newbie question. We all have to start somewhere, though!
Thanks,
--Fred
