Do I need a lift?

RE: Do I need a lift?
yeah, its an old topic, but i have an update........ USE JACKSTANDS!!! i finally pushed my luck too far yesterday, and i had a Prelude fall on me. im SOOOOOO lucky i can still type using all ten fingers. lets just say i was about 2mm away from losing three fingers on my left hand. as it is, i almost needed stitches in my right hand, and amazingly, I didnt break all my fingers on my left. its a good thing my wife was hanging out with me in the garage, and my big *** buddy Mike was right inside the house to lift that ish off of me. the car settled with my fingers stuck between the upright tire and the fenderwell. if it had been something metal instead of a soft Dunlop, those fingers would have been gone. no question. still makes me quesy thinking about it.

you guys have no idea. we were sitting there right afterwards just looking at it, and we couldnt believe how perfectly it happened. if the car had moved my way another inch, it wouldnt have landed on the rim i had on the ground on the other side, so it would have been wholey resting on my hand, as it was, it was only about 1/3 to 1/4 of the weight of the car.

I feel you there.
Everyone, use jackstands and if your working on something, make sure that area IS supported (Not including a jackstand under a floor pan or a jackstand which IS NOT in contact with the car). When the car is lifted I always try to see if there's any chance that it's gonna fall...I try to wiggle it and if it moves I redo everything until it doesn't. Use common sense.
