Question Dumb question: What is an "EG" hatchback?

Even though I've been the proud and happy owner of a 1994 SI hatchback for over 10 years, I've never heard of EG hatchbacks. I just recently ran across the term and have no idea exactly what it means.

EG Hatch refers to your generation as largen said. its a big generization as most cars dont fit the codes that people call them.

yep EG term for 92-95, EJ is for 96-98, and EK is for 99-00, im not sure about others. but alot of people call the 96-98 a EK as well but its not. tho the only difference is the front end style and center dash audio/climate controls.
