i bought a engine from a friend im not sure what kind of engine it is i think its a d15b but not sure this is a pic of it.

umm, you bought an engine before knowing what it was?? What car is it from? It looks like a 96-98 civic engine. Look to the left of where the headers were. There is normally an engine code there.

 

will the person that my friend bought it from keep saying that it is a siengine but i dont think it is .

 

If it's from an Si civic, sure. But I think he's full of s***. Look for the engine code. That will tell you. Do you have it already? The 92-95 civic Si was the only Si with a SOHC engine. It was the D16Z6. Your valve cover looks like the valve cover that came with 96-98 civics (one engine model being the D16Y8). After 95 the Si Civic had DOHC engines.

 

ya i have the engine ya i think he's full of it to it came out of a 99 civic that was rolled it sits in my friends yardi strip all that i can
off it the numbers are on the right or left of the engine thanks for your help

 

i found the number its is d16y8 thanks .

 

Not that bad. It's a VTEC. It should have 127hp. Oh, and it's from an EX

 

i have a 01 honda civic lx i was wanting to put that engine in my car how hard would it be to swap the to engins out
because im having stuff go wrong with the engine in the 01
