Exhaust sound dampener?

Just got a ticket for having a "noisy" exhaust. I have a Magnaflow for my 97 civic. Even if I contest the ticket I run the chance of getting more tickets if I keep the same exhaust.

Can I install something to make it less noisy, or do I have to change the thing?

what is your exact setup? is it a catback? do you have a resonator?

if so, maybe get a bigger resonator? maybe a second one? or maybe get a silences for the muffler tip
