Default Gauge cluster bulbs?

ok Riddle me this... i have heard that the bulbs in the 92-95 civic's gauge cluster are #24, and #74... now i have done this before and they will fit.. BUT.. the #24's you have to force in cause they seem about a hairs thickness to big, and the #74's are too wide at the bottom and won't go in all the way... once again your can force them in but the sockets for the bulbs cracks, and sometimes spits the bulb out...

now to my question ... does anyone know the ACTUAL bulb sizes for the cluster.. this is driving me nuts... not to mention that i have to go to the dealership and get some new sockets cause i have been driving arround with only 2/3 of my speedo lit up at night...

here is a picture of the original bulb from the clusster(left), and the #74(right) as you can see the base of the bulb part is wider than the original
