Default Is this a good deal?

Looking at purchasing a used Civic.

I found a 2007 EX Black Coupe, manual transmission. I looked at the car and test drove it, runs well and everything. Has 99K miles on it, and we've agreed to a price of $8600. Assuming it gets the green light from my mechanic when he gives it the once over, do you guys think this is a good deal?

actually that many miles in that few of years would suggest that there was a lot of highway driving involved, which is generally better for your car than city driving. Just sayin'.

And as far as the car goes, it doesn't seem like a bad deal to me. But personally, I've seen SI coupes go for about as much. Probably would be a little more fun?

A guy here just paid $9000 for an 02 Civic with 89K. He thought he got a hell of a deal.
Check it out, road miles I agree are much better than stop & go town driving. Really that isn't that much driving 20-25K/year.
The price doesn't sound all that bad for an 07. I like the stick if it has most of the EX options, like cruise tilt, A/C, power doors windows etc.

an 02 with 89k for 9k? thats a terrible deal. That model is known for transmission failures (if its auto) and they generally run $2-4k around here, with similiar mileage.

He was happy & thought it was a great deal. He did get a warranty for 3 years or 36,000 miles. So I think the dealer saw him coming & gave him the BIG SCREW.
Why his first post wasn't asking about buying a Honda instead of telling us how he took it standing up I'll never know. But some people know it all.
