It was an impulse buy. I shouldn't have. They're OEM Honda CRX Si "phone dials" (so-called because they look like an old school rotary phone). They came on USDM 86-87 CRX Si's ONLY so they're kinda rare. But ugly! (butt ugly O.o?) They're so ugly that I kinda like them. Hence the impulse buy.



The tires are dry rotted garbage so I might set them on fire. They can't even go on the car once. I won't allow it.





I started scrubbing with some simple green and a nice scrubbing sponge. Then I had to move on to sandpaper. Ugh, these were awful.

No more pics of the work so far. I may end up polishing these for use as beater rims. One of them is a little bent so I have to beat on it anyways. I'm out of cash as always so I don't wanna buy any more sandpaper.

 

lol nice pickup, hope you didn't spend too much on those. and nice job cleaning them up. now time to give them that polish look

 

serious;y the ugliest rims honda has ever made. my 85 crx si had a different type of rims, i think those are the non si rims ive seen them on a few old model crx's

sorry man, those rims would look ugly on any car. They remind me of those saturn ion rims that look like a plus sign. The squirrels will have fun playing in them though.

 

I know, right? But they're so ugly that they're cool. It's the strangest thing.
