I could have basically started the same thread since I was wondering the same things, I have concluded from this thread that I want a b18b1 myself for the following reasons...
1. More torque than the b16.
2. Cheaper than the b16 (and maybe the b20?) .
3. Multiple people here have done it so there is plenty of how-to info.
I wont be swapping anything till next year though when the warranty runs out on my D so my opinion is subject to change by then.

I'm still gonna have to go with the B18B1. I believe it's an easier swap. It's easier to obtain, and probably less expensive. You won't have to change pistons and stuff to boost the B18 on low boost. The B20 is probably not the greatest for boost because I would assume that it has thin cylinder walls due to the fact it is an overbored B18.

Actually Ive got a B18a1 complete motor im tryin to get rid of, i got it from a guy in a trade who said it was built from the ground up which come to find out it was entirely stock. But its still a good motor, internals are very clean and has a new head gasket

^just to clarify for madjoker, a B18A1 is almost exactly the same as a B18B1, but I believe it is OBD0. Nothing you can't easily change though.

What I mean by easier to obtain is that they are more plentiful. They're easier to find. You have better selection of exactly which B18B1 you want to buy. More different prices, different mileage, different condition, etc. The cool thing about those B18B1's and B20's is that most of the cars they came in had automatic transmissions... so most of them haven't really been beat on.

any input on this, cuz iv never seen a super charger on a civic, is it cheaper??
