Default Help make my car better and longer running

I own a 1996 Civic Ex Coupe with 120,000 Miles. I'm interested in keeping this car running as long/ healthy as possiblewith better gas mileage since it'll have to last me through college. What is some aftermarket parts, routines, or tricksthat will help me reach 250k. My friends have told me some info but I figured people in this forum would more likely know what their talking about.
Thanks
-Dave

If you want better gas mileage, you could install a cold air intake. It makes your engine breathe easier and it should get a bit better gas mileage. And to make your car last a long time, you should just maintain it. Look through your manual and there should me a maintenance schedule. If you don't have it I'm sure that a local honda stealership would. Maintennance is the key to a healthy honda

Use synthetic oil and other fluids wherever possible.

dont put seafoam in the oil on a high mileage engine, unless you get a really good synthetic high mileage oil; it will clean out more than you want it to. Still put it in your gas and vaccum lines though. (bad experiences in the past... )

Other than that keep up on regular maintenance, and clean things regularly, like the throttle body, and change the bushings if you can... all of these kinds of things help keep things on track and in good condition. and like ballinboy1020 said, be kind to it...
