Post Honda Civic Si 2000 new motor

Hello everyone,

I have a hole inside my motor. I let my friend drive it while i was gone for some time and apparently he forgot to change oil. So now I need a new motor. Should i get the same motor or buy something else and how much would a motor cost me? Ive read that a B16a the one i have right now would cost me around 2,000 plus the installation for about 500-1k. (1k is to much). Did i hear correctly? Is that how much they go for? Thank you very much for your help in advance.

The motor in there was pretty good. Here's a good starting point.

None of those prices include labor, and I have no idea how much it would be.
