Hood Tilt

RE: Hood Tilt
for F/I cars it allows the heat from the turbo/engine to escape and makes for cooler temps. under the hood. its also pretty good for ppl with ITB's because it will allow for more, colder air to go directly to the ITB's. if u dont have either, its pointless. most ppl do it because they see some JdM y0! car with it and figure its cool to do the same...to me it just looks like u got into an accident and never got ur hood fixed[&:]

RE: Hood Tilt
on my NA car i had my hood popped, because i didn't run a cooling fan, and it did keep the temps down. the only time my car would heat up after i tilted it, was when i would sit in traffic for long periods of time, and thats was not fun 90 degrees outside and the heat on blowing in my face.

RE: Hood Tilt
im gonna do it with my new motor when it goes in just because im running high boost amounts and high temps... but only a little bit, it will barely even be visible while far away.

RE: Hood Tilt
My hood is up about 1/8 an inch it isn't that noticeable but you can notice when you get up close... doesn't bother me any, i think it is cause the car was in an accident before i got it and it needed a new hood.

I've talked to a number of guys running high boost apps that had issues with the heat getting into the cabin, and making it unbearable hot. Lifting the hood helped A LOT in those cases. I'm sure there are plenty of Ricers out there doing it cause it's the MaD tYte JDM shizzle yO, but a lot do it for a purpose.

Cabin air intake on our cars is located between hood and windshield, right? Normally it gets about ambient temp air, may be just a bit heated after passing over the hood. If you tilt the hood, you let the hot air from engine bay to enter your cabin air intake, wouldn’t it make temp much hotter in the cabin, not cooler? Honestly, I can’t figure out how it could help cooling the cabin.
