horsepower estimate?

RE: paper racers
At the crank? going to get it done on the rollers soon so I should know for sure. I was reading a uk rice mag the other day called max power (I know, the shame) and one of the journalists in there has an ek hatch lsi, they have a 1.5l vtec and produce 115bhp stock, well this guy puts on a cat back, sri, and a 4-2-1 header and gets his car dyno'd and it has a 28 bhp increase to like 143 bhp! I thought this was a little high, but the print out was there for all to see. I wonder if the estimation they gave for the crank figure could be this far out ? hell of a nice gain if it was true though.

No way in hell, you would need a good $500 header, a cam and valve terrain along with a tuning session with a decent fuel management system to be able to atain that out it. Akmee engineering is pulling around 135 to 138whp with a Z6 but they have a thuroughly built head on a stock bottom end.

And what makes it worse is all the ricer's who read that mag will go out and buy civic's thinking they can achieve massive gains with just a couple of bolt on's. Well they will if they can afford the high insurance

Okay. I'll play. I want to see what the future may hold for me too. Just bought the car and this is what it had on it.

Some new exhaust tip but at least it frees up some air flow.
That's all that has been done engine wise as most of the mods are to the suspension and wheels.
What might I be able to achieve with headers/catback and IM? Also planning to put some light weight pulleys on it to free up some low end hp.
