Looks like every1 drove home the neutral drop thing, but neutral drops are like hitting your trans in the face with a baseball bat. I was watching a video on streetfire one time and this guy put a crap load of tire wet (its like tire cleaner) under the tire and did a burnout for a couple min, then the tire exploded. Maybe use the tirewet but don't go for like 2 min

thats the main reason i bought my civic! average 28-36mpg depending on how i drive.LOL
beats the hell outta my trucks average 14-17mpg!

i did a road trip thursday geting my rims... guess what kinda milage i got with NO AC on straight 75MPH........................... on come on i know you can guess........ what still no guess jeesss man just guess already...... ok just to make sure your still reading i got fourty four point six miles per gallon outa my 99 EX.
with the AC i only got like 35.7mpg
i was gonna try milage with no AC with windows down BUT ran into realy bad traffic so that realy screwed it up!

filled up the gas tank/ cleared the speedo and already got about 200miles outa just over 1/4 tank.
i love this thing compared to my trucks milage! cost me awhole tank of gas and my truck had a BIG gas tank! typicaly 55-60bucks a fill up. and that was just one way! i coulda gone round trip on one tank of gas in my civic!
sounds to me like you either need to let off the gas pedal or get your civic fully checked out!

Addiction2Bass you use the words LOL and LMFAO Waaay too much.
The other day the only reason I got home was because I turned the AC off and put my car in nuetral(its an auto) when going down hills. That dropped the RPMs about 1,000 over having it in drive. I literally ran out of gas as soon as I pulled in the driveway.

well cannt say throwing it in neutral BUT i know turning off the AC alone will save you alot of milage!
due to the heat ive had to run my AC almost the whole gas tank and so far i have just over 200 miles and only about 1/4- 1/8th gas tank left
that AC REALY KILLS THE MILAGE! but when its a black car and over 90 degrees outside everyday..... well its a price i gotta pay to not die in my car.LOL

I remember reading a reply to this question a while ago in this forum and it stuck in my mind.

it is if your stoped....
but for throwing it in neutral and still rollen down a hill and still going preaty fastya rev the motor up and put it in gear BUT dont keep the pedal floored... basicaly ya just speed up the motor so the engine/tranny equilizes easier.
kinda hard to descibe i think.... ive done it several times but mainly by accident from my knee hiting the shifter.LOL
