Default i flooded my civic

yep gotta love louisiana weather. water was so deep it was coming in through my windows. and don't ask why i drove through it cos i didn't know how bad it was til my car just sunk down.

i was wondering what i needed to try and get it running again? the motors not locked up or ruined i don't believe it just needs work now.

Wait, so water was up to your windows, you continued to drive it, and you dont thinks its hydrolocked? The entire motor must have been under water if it was up to your windows.

it wasn't up to my windows it was right below them. if anyone made any big waves it'd come through though. so should i just let it sit for a few days? i was thinking of changing the battery (Already needed to anyways), cleaning out the cylinders with wd40, changing the oil, and replacing tranny fluid. i hope it's not screwed cos if it is i'm screwed.

i got it started for a little bit and drove it some. it was wanting to die and sputtering and the rpms wouldn't go past like 2000 maybe 1600 and i had it floored. it kept backfiring too BIGASS flames at that sounded like gunshots.

Disconnect the battery now. Change the oil and transmission fluid. Spin the engine some with the ignition disconnected to try and clear water out of it. Let dry out for several days with battery disconnected before doing anything else.

Your car is probably totaled though. You're lucky that you didn't die yourself. Stay out of flood water! The problem is you never can know how deep it is.
