Default katrina flooded my civic

Hi, I have a 98 civic LX automatic. Before I sign the car with 99,500 miles over to the insurance company, I wanted to know how damaged the car could be. The water was three inches inside the car. Where are the computers/electronics? Think the car is driveable or should I send her on her way?
Thanks.

Aww... well, welcome to the forum. Unfortuanately, the computer is in the passenger kick panel (right above the foor.) most of the other electronics are in the dash though I think. My bet is that there's prolly some stuff messed up but I don't have very much experience with flood type things, maybe someone else will be able to help more.

If you have to give it up make sure to get another civic and keep comming back.

It's gona need a buttload of engine work too. The whole things probably filled with water which means definetly not driveable, and a complete rebuild is in order.

hehehe......pcupo is tryin to get you to ruin your engine!

You never try to start a submerged engine until you have drained all the fluids and replaced them with new fluids. Also, you should remove your plugs and put a bit of oil in each cylinder and crank it without plugs in, to keep it from seizing.
