Unhappy I'm really worried

My del sol has been sitting for around 2 years now. The distributor coil burnt out and my mechanic has the entire distributor. He had a heart transplant and has stayed sick for a long time. Every time i call he says, ''this weekend'' or if i tell him i will pick up the parts if he is not available, its ''i will be there as soon as possible''. Can this cause any kind of damage? The oil was changed before it quit. He had rebuilt the engine, new tranny, etc before i bought it 3 years ago. Also i am worried because around the valve cover there is a little bit of oil. The oil seems to spread on the engine, around the seals, even though its just sitting there. Do you think he didn' replace the seals when he rebuilt the engine?

The battery may be no good after sitting. Might have helped to put some fuel stabilizer in there. At this point, if you want the car back in running condition, you should probably just go buy a new distributor or grab a junkyard one and hope.

That's just me, though.
