I have a 01 civic ex, automatic, automatic for reasons of being unable to drive a stick, being a fan of eating while driving, finding a good deal on an automatic, and being left handed lol. Well I'm just curious as to what you think the top speed I can get in my 01 civic ex coupe, auto. Nothing has been added into it performance wise. I'm not a racing person, in fact I don't even care, I do maybe 10 tops over the speed limit. But I was out the other day with friends, and they said they doubt it can get past 80 mph. What do you think?

 

u can deff get past 80, but y do it?? i guess u just want to know for ur own reason, i doubt ud have a problem hitting anything under 85-90

 

im guessing, its limited at between 110 and one 120, but probaly tops out around 135

 

not sure, your model is probably rated up to a little over a hundred (downhill)

 

i have heard that the governer kicks in at 112

yeah, my 97 4 door needs more power in the top end...i only pushed it once, and never drive really crazy, but its nice to know when u have the speed. i pushed it too i will post in mph 4 u guys. 100, then on a slight downhill i managed t get the car up too 118mph. no governer on it, i thought there was one around 105? all the car has is a cai, and a stupid noisy muffler without a header....why? i want a header i dont care for the noise....but more power so icould hit 125 would be nice.

 

my car hit a 110 the other day the Turnpike but than i decided to slow down sicne one of my car engine mounts is broken. but all i have on my car is an different ECU that the stock DX coem with, Header, and Intake. i think it has to do with weight too. i dont keep anything in my car other than One 12" Sony Xploded speaker and a Amp.

 

It surprises me that noone really knows where the speed limiter is at. Isn't there an FAQ that tells all this info somewhere? I guess the only way is to try it and find out... (on a track of course...) My guess would be about 115 to 120.

 

well problem with checking out top speed is the fact that the roads just airnt long enough.LMFAO
my friend said that has new SI had toped about around 130MPH......
PERSONALY ive only gotten up to 110 ONCE and said F*** it thats faster than ill ever go... knowing my luck thier would be a cop right thier and id have my car impounded and go straight to jail...

but anyways going that fast.... well lets just say you need a VERY LONG EMPTY stip of road... cause after you go so fast it just SLOWLY gets faster VERY SLOWER the faster ya go....


its not like my chevy truck.... that think would kick out at about 98mph and with the 5.0 v8 it was easy enough to get up that fast.LOL i got a performance chip made for my truck which deleted the govener and well my speedometer only goes to 100 but i had it past thier and took awhile before the needle started moving back down again.... so im sure my truck could realy get rolling fast BUT i never realy went that fast just when i was trying stuff out to see how fast it could REALY go.... but i never found out its top speed cause of the 100mph speedometer
the price of geting caught at even 90mph will get you taken straight to jail in most states......

tthiers only one place in the world where you can realy test out your car legaly... and good lock transporting your car over thier and testing it out yourself... tho i would admite it would be sweet to live over thier expetialy if they had some of those radar things that told ya your speed LMFAO that would be kick @ss.......
