keyless entry?

RE: keyless entry?
I thought the keyless entry was contained in a white box behind the driver's side kickpanel in the 7th gen Civics...?
*edit*
I checked the 6th gen Helms manual. 96-98, it's part of the stock head unit. 99-00, the controller box is behind the kick panel. I used to have the 7th gen manual, but I have no clue where it went. For some reason, I think they kept it behind the kickpanel in the 7th gen, because my sister had the same issue with her 01 LX coupe when we bought it. Hers turned out to not have keyless.

RE: keyless entry?
i checked with a dealer today and the service techs told me that the factory radio is what contains the receiver for keyless entry because the remote transmits through the radio antenna, so without my piece of **** factory radio the keyless entry is a no go if the option is even installed. this info came from the actual dealer and guys who do this for a living so looks like e-baying i go.

RE: keyless entry?
I am not absolutely sure, but I get the impression that the keyless receiver unit may be separate from and located behind the radio in the 2001 Civic (see picture).
