What usually wears out first on a civic (lookin at the 92-95 year range) plan on getting an EX or SI, any help would be great.
Honda trannies are always known as Grade A. Look out for that.

i was justttttt wondering what a stock 5th gen ex/si would run in the 1/4 mile vs the 88+CRX's

i know driver skill has a ton to do with it but what have you guys seen these cars run stock?

i really like bolth the 5th gen ex/si's but i also like the 88-up CRX's just wondering what ones going to be faster in the end.

btw this is a nice website for info not a bunch of little kids saying they can beat corvettes and vipers with their stock cars lol.

crx si= a little faster.
5th gen ex=most options, decent performance.
5th gen si=same performance (same weight adn same power as ex) few less options, more potential for lightening. (has thick sound deadening material, easy to remove.)

it all comes down to what you can afford and what you like the best. the performance is all very close, within a couple tenths of a second.

does anyone have any ideas as to what they run the 1/4 mile, like most 1st gen neons run around 15.8-16 stock, less if the driver knows what hes doing more if he dosent.

dual cam neons right? stock civics (sohc) run about mid 16s to low 17s. but they respond well to mods.

Well, it would be... at least Mitsu actually knows how to put the car TOGETHER (even if the parts suck...) But what boggles my mind is how they can have such a bunch of ****boxes, and then the EVO is like the pinnacle of "imports." Maybe they don't realize what they're on to.

i agree the sohc neons with the 132hp and 125lb-ft torq are kinda gutless, tho they take to FI better than the dohc motors.

Man, if Honda made a SOHC Civic motor pushing 132hp/125lb-ft, it would be such a beautiful platform to build on. Although, Dodge's is a 2 liter, and that's all they can get out of it... (tsk tsk.)
