I have a 2001 ex coupe. nice car, and i love the mileage. it has an automatic and i was wondering if it would even be worth making it quicker. what type of stuff could i do to it even though it has an automatic?? should i just stick to appearence type stuff?? i WANT to do performance stuff but i was wondering at which point it would just be a waste since its an automatic. like intake, headers, exhaust. is that where i should stop?? what else could i do. thanks for the help.

I don't know much about the auto trannie's on these cars, but my bets would be you could go with I/H/E on your car and not harm the transmission.

Torque is the only thing that really kills autos... and you won't get much of that unless you get a turbo.

might want to consider modding the tranny, a lot of work but well worth it, then like said about intake, headers and exhaust, also plugs and wires will help for performance

If you got the money look into a manual tranny swap. Otherwise if you want to do the I/H/E go for it but you won't gain very much hp, around 15hp or so approx. Might give you a little more kick.. and if that's all you want for a DD then that's cool. But once you start modding the apperance of your car your going to get revved at alot, just wave and smile lol. Look into the turbonator aswell, 35Hp for real cheap............................................. .................................................. ....................................... JOKE. Yeah don't do that.

A turbo would be a tranny killer. Either he would have to dump a bunch of money into his tranny or do a manual swap. Either way it would be spendy.
