my car has been acting weird lately... my car squeels like something is scratching against the tires..idk if it has to do with my breaks but now all of a sudden my brake squeekes only for an instant when i slow down. but its annoying driving around having that noise like my breaks are pushed down a little and worn out...any ideas on what it might be?

 

Sounds like its just brake squeal. I dont think its a big deal, it just means they have brake dust on them. This is what I know anyway, I may be wrong.

You should take a wheel off and inspect the brake pads. But usually brakes that squeak when you first press the pedal but it goes away when you press harder are nothing to worry about. A lot of people drive their mechanics nuts trying to get rid of it.

 

not its a squeek but it also happens anytime after 40 mph it wont go away until i brake and then once i brake the sqeek comes back but its a different sounding sqeek if that makes any sence im due for new pads but idk if there is a real problem other than that i was consider one of my brake calipers failed but i could be wrong

 

I had the same problem a couple months ago...
I just changed my brake pads, and everything was back to normal.

 

That noise is the squealers going off. It is a warning to change your brake pads. That's all. Do it soon, before you warp your rotors.
