Well, I bought a '99 si with 69,000 miles on it, with a few things done to it for 7400, so I would say that one is WAY overpriced. It's ugly too, IMO. Keep lookin, took me like 4 months to find one that fit in with my price and style, you'll find one eventually. Take your time, and don't just buy any car, wait until you find the one YOU like. You'll know...

get a hatch cause they are generally lighter
then swap for a b16 out of an si
or maybe a b18c5 out of an integra type R
or maybe an ls block with just type R heads
the point is
swaps are easier then you would think on a honda.
good things to look for
-DOHC!!!!!!!!!!(screw sohc)
-VTEC.
-B series engine.
if you have those things the car is probably faster then you think it is already
and parts are abundant.

If I were to do a swap, first where would I find a legit engine? And how would I install it? Just go to a mechanic?

How much would this cost overall?

Find an engine online, ebay, craigslist, kijiji even junk yard. Umm like 500 - 1000 for engine and anther 800 - 1500 to install. All depends on engine you buy.

yea like 500-1000 for a d series motor.... you will b looking more in the 3k range for a b16 after everything is all said and done.

I say go with an ex if no si pops up. How much hp are you looking for? if your only looking for around 200 then an ex will b fine with a turbo. gl with finding a car!!!!

Ok well i'll probably continue looking for a civic si instead of going through all the trouble of engine swapping.

If i were to get one that is far away (out of state), then what are some things I should consider and ask for? Like pictures of any dents? Or what? So i know i don't get ripped...and yea i know a carfax is a good idea.

Why would you want a picture of a dent? LOL, better off not getting a car with dents. They'll drive you crazy! Hmm, so you dont want to do a swap.(the fun part)... Limited budget...and you want a B series. ...lol that Si you showed us..Rotfl..wow!
I'm over it. peace GL
